Reading & Leeds Line-Up

Posted in music festival, rock music by rockbitches on 21/03/2011

Is it just me or does this year’s line-up not look too shabby?

Friday is definitely party-day: I can already picture getting stupidly drunk and high, dancing around to NFG and Offspring classics, before nah-nah-nahing to MCR until my feet fall off!  Not to mention a brief session of bottle throwing at douche-face Jared Leto. OH JOY!!

Saturday’s pure rock, perfect for the morning-after sickness and delusions, feeling that bit better for skank-your-heart-out Madness and sing-a-long JEW.

What an amazing way to end a weekend with Sunday’s line-up: MUSE is enough to make the ticket prices worth it, not to mention Interpol, Death From Above… and 2manydjs!!! Woop Woop!

Think I’ll be heading to Reading this year following a disappointing, heartless stint at Leeds last year.  Let’s start dancing to the Sun Gods for a glorious bank holiday weekend!

Sonisphere VS Download

Posted in music festival by rockbitches on 03/03/2011

Evenin’

Fuck, it’s March 2011 already. Shoot us for being shit!

Been spending way too much time keeping track with the more-than-rock antics of Charlie Sheen and suffering brain freeze from this fuck-off cold weather.  ROLL ON SPRING.

So, wanted to end this hiatus with a beautiful article from music journo, Dom Lawson about all the bullshit surrounding this year’s festivals.  It’s a beaut, you really must have a read:

“In contrast, 2011 appears to have become the ‘Year Of The Perpetually Whining Cock’, and for reasons best known to the drooling turdslingers who have been cluttering up forums, Facebooks, Tumblrs and Twitters for the last few weeks with their tedious complaints, the Download festival has been the main recipient of all the vitriol….”

Fuck whining about the line-ups, my only beef is with the fucking ticket prices.  But hey, same shit different year!!

So anyway, RB are back. Watch this space.

Posted in music festival, review, rock music by rockbitches on 31/08/2010

Good morning!

Bank holiday weekend over in a flash… I would quite like a few days off now to recover! haha.

So, Leon and I have pulled our thumbs out and written our final reviews of Leeds Festival 2010.  It’s a bit of a mixed one….

Michaela: The Highs & Lows of Leeds Festival: “I can see why bands prefer to play Reading which is a little sad for us Yorkshire folk…”

Leon: So Long, Leeds – Until Next Year!: “The line-up, although being the best in recent years, wasn’t that awesome…”

Do you agree with us?  Let us know your thoughts!!

Leon: An awesome end to a fantastic Leeds Festival!: “First impressions… well, what dare you say about a bunch of muscled, angry-looking men dancing around the stage?”

Michaela: From Talent to Trio: “There’s something about having “Mega Lolz!!!!” as a back drop and seeing Ian’s make-up on screen that made me feel quite unwell”

And a video of one of our favourite bands of the weekend, Against Me!

We’ve still got a bunch of pictures to put up and an over all weekend highlights and lowlights so keep your eyes peeled!!

Leeds Festival: Day #2

Posted in music festival, review, rock music, rock video by rockbitches on 29/08/2010

So, yes – I know, posted a day or so late… these pictures/videos/words are a bloody nuisance when you come home at 2am and have to leave the house by 10am for the next round of madness…

Leon’s post of the day here: “Pretty much every performance was blocked by some dude wanting to be 8ft tall. It’s not cool, it’s not clever, they just piss lots of people (such as me) off!”

Michaela’s post of the day here: “With no bands we wanted to see for a while, it was the perfect opportunity to grab a beer and a pear cider, sit in the busy guest area, and discuss the finer things in life… such as: “I can’t believe we saw that girl’s ass cheek earlier!””

And a little ditty which brings a smile to my face:
